How Did We Get Here?

KoobTube has been a work in the making for years now. Nearly everybody I’ve met has learned that I’m that guy they go to when they have a weird question about nearly everything. Though my primary focus all my life has been IT (19 years and going strong!), I’ve picked up a dozen or more interests along the way. And anybody that’s spent any time with me has come to realize that when I get into something I GET INTO IT. I obsess over it, I learn everything I can about a topic and apply it to achieve the following goals:

  • Learn how to fix something. From a very early age I always loved figuring out how stuff works. As a kid I could rarely get that broken VCR or toaster back together, but I couldn’t resist cracking it open and figuring out what made it tick.
  • Save money by fixing it myself. Most of the stuff people use on a regular basis are just enhanced simple machines or items using pretty basic electronic components. Sure a car’s suspension is made of up a ton of parts, or that blender has a bunch of scary electronics inside, but if I can figure it out, I’m happy to show you how to figure it out.
  • Teaching others things I’ve learned. Aside from supporting other channels, this is a small way I can say thanks to the hundreds (if not thousands I’ve learned from to get where I am today.

What Topics Will I Cover?

Because most of what I’ll be talking about is stuff I work with or use on a daily basis, I’ll start there. As I get questions or solve new problems I’m happy to share that with you!

  • GMT-800 series pickups – I have a 2007 GMC Sierra 2500 HD that’s seen 165,000 miles (265,000 km). And needs plenty of maintenance and upkeep
  • 1981 Suzuki GS850G – I’ve got two of these bikes. One will remain with a stock look (the blue one) and I’ve got a great winter project planned for the brown one.
  • Tool Tips, Tricks & Reviews – I LOVE TOOLS AND GADGETS. And I end up acquiring many throughout the year to complete projects and tasks. I’ll post monthly about my most used or favorite tool and I’ll post an end of year tool roundup with my favorite tools over the year. I’ll even have some great tool giveaways of my favorites.
  • CookingFriends know I love to cook, and I’m mostly incapable of cooking for crowds less than 8. I’m happy to share my recipes and tips and tricks as I make everything from Avocado Toast to Zucchini Pasta
  • Anything viewers or friends ask me about! – This one is totally up to YOU! If there’s a problem you’re trying to solve, or a purchase you’re pondering, lets work through it together!
